Beautiful Pea Green Boat was founded by composer/producer Ian Williams in the mid ‘80s while studying in Edinburgh, the group’s ethereal, atmospheric sound pre-dating the vogue for dream pop by at least twenty years.
Having issued a number of singles, EPs and two albums, Williams relocated to London and took their sound in a more epic dance and pop direction, recruiting soulful singer Juley Smith to record ‘Every Night With You I Die A Little’, which was released in 1990 as a 12" single.
This newly remastered digital reissue features the radio-friendly Mix One, a cinematic beatless Floating Mix, a sprawling, clubby Lunar Eclipse Mix, plus a guitar-heavy 2025 Rebuild recently discovered in the Slaughterback vaults.
The group name was subsequently changed to Cloud Horses, with Williams and Smith releasing a further 12” single together entitled ‘Descent’.
